Writing: Review

Have you ever considered travelling for penauts while at the same time meeting new and interesting people? Our main idea when we planned our trip was to a flat swap with students from a vibrant city we had never been to. After deciding that Salamanca would be a good choice, we started to contact local student's organizations. Despite it involving a huge traffic of mails going back and forth, we finally managed to finalize the details. The last mail was a godsend! Before going there we were not so sure about how everything would turn out. Now, that we have returned from Salamanca, we are extremely pleased with our decision.The experience was great! We took a train from Barcelona on Thursday morning. During those twelve long hours we kept ourselves busy and occupied. We played cards, we slept, we watched a couple of films, we told jokes and stories and even played the guitar! It was fantastic when the other travellers from the compartment gathered together for a sing-song! ...

Poverty is a pitfall affecting the development of people and societies all over the globe. In order to try to counteract these difficulties I believe we should start by analysing the causes. The identification of the causes of poverty is the first point to propose several of the measures that could be taken. Starvation is the main problem that comes to our minds when we consider the problems of developing countries. In fact, the lack of food causes the death of between 80.000 and 100.000 persons all over the world every day. Imagine, this is like the crowd of a huge football stadium passing away every day. However, if we take African countries into consideration we will realise that due to their climate conditions the situation should be completely different. The problem is that they devote their soil to grow crops of non basic alimentary plants such as tea or coffee, instead of growing crops to feed their population. Sting: attack made by and animal producing irritation (jellyfish) Bite: attack made by an animal mouth (dog, bee) Lise: little insects living in the hair (sprecially in children) Fleas: little insects living in the dogs and cats skin Expressions: The early birg catches the worm: if you start something early you have more chances to succeed.
